CCFL Week 9 Round Up

With Mullingar Athletic idle on Sunday, Willow Park took the chance to extend their ead at the top of the Division to 6 points. Goals from Brian Cauldwell and Ronan Frawley gave Willow a 2-1 victory away to Arlington. In a n entertaining game third placed Monklsand Utd went down 2-0 at home to Killavilla thanks to a double from Craig Phelan. Mountmellick secured three points at home to Birr, brothers Mark and Pauric Goodwin adding to a double from Robbie Hibbits in a 4-1 win.

In the top of the table clach between Gallen Utd and Willow Park B it was Gallen who secured all three points. Despite being down 2-0 at half time Gallen finished on top, eventually came away with a 3-2 win with goals from Ciaran Kenny, dec Killian and Oisin Geraghty. Paul Kinnrney scored twice for CK Utd s they came away from Melville with a point.

In Division 1 leaders Abbeyleix continued their winning run with a narrow 1-0 win at home to Highfield thanks to a goal from David Brennan with second placed Tulamore keeping the pressure on with a 2-0 victory over Noreside, Willie Duffy and Anthony Coyne on the score sheet for Tullamore. Shinrone defeated Mullingar Town 3-0, the goals coming from Derek McLoulghlin(2) and Pio Fitzpatick.

In Division 2 17 year old Michael Daly came of the bench to grab a double and help Gentex to a 3-2 win over Dynamo Town. Kilcormac took all three points when they entertained Ballybrittas, Darren Screeney and Stephen Screeney got the goals in a 2-1 win.

Dvision 3A Pullough had PJ Kidney on the score sheet but it wasn’t enough ass they went down 2-1 at home to Cloneygowan. Shane Maloney and Paul Stone got the goals for Killavilla in their 2-0 win away to Daingean.

Lawrencetown kept their unbeaten start to season intact with a 2-0 win over Clonown, Conor Cuillane and Martin Mitchel got the goals and Mark Nee put in a great performance for the home team. An Ed Healy goal for Gallen B gave them a share of the points in Banagher while Edenderry kept in touch at the top of 3B with a 3-1 win over Arlington courtesy of goals from Derek Murphy, Keith Duffy and Ryan Lynch,

In Division 4A Raheen continued their impressive form with a 5-3 away to Portlaoise.

St Carthages got their first win of the season, 3-2 over St Jameshe scorers for St Carthages., Paul Mooney, Phil Gill and Barry Kelly. Piotr Niewiadomski(4), Tomaz Wisinski(3), Piotr Nowicki, Krysztof Jurisik, Gregorz Nowak and Andrzej Dygudaj got the goals for Eagles in their 11-0 win over Kilcormac. Derry Rovers ended Frankfords unbeaten start in a cracking game in Brians Park. Derry raced into a two goal lead in the first half hour thanks to goals from Darren Coates then Ross Kearney. Frankford pulled one back before the break then levelled it on the hour before Paddy Clarke and Ger Hanlon put Rovers in front. The result sees Derry overtake Frankford and move into second in the table. East End Celtic made it 8 wins from 8 but had to work hard for the pints in their 5-2 win over Clara Town C. East End twice came from behind before eventually putting the game beyond Clara, Eddie Kinahan got a hatrick, with James Carthy and Enda Ravenhill completing the coring for the league leaders.

Boro Celtic remain top of Division 1 Saturday. Derek Collins got their first against Ballymahon when he finished well after a scramble in the box, fter half an hour Boro were 2-0 up when top scorer David Harrison found the net again when he was quickest to react after a Henry Kenny free kick had been parried by the Ballymahon Keeper. Boro Captain James Hanley rounded of the scoring after a great pass from Derek Murray. Stevie O’Connor in the Boro goal pulled off a great save late on to make sure of the clean sheet. Inny FC won 6-4 against Colmcille, Niall McGurgen(3), Max Brady(2) and Barry Harten all amongst the goals for Inny. Paddy Maher put Longford Celtic ahead against third placed Dynamo Rooskey but goals from Richie Dooner and Seamus Kennedy gave Rooskey the three points.

Clongowes Wood made it two wins a row in the the youths Division, Bidemi Afolabi got a hatrick to add to his five goals last week and Daniel Giles and Patrick Phelan got the others as they beat St Kierans 5-0.
The U17 Division leaders Gracefield put 7 past Killeigh, Jamie Evans and Nigel Murphy both got two goals and Mark Kirwin, Mark Garry and Emett McKenna got the others for Gracefield, Finl score 7-2.
