In early 2006, Westmeath Community Development, Westmeath County Council, Athlone Community Taskforce and The Westmeath Community and Voluntary Forum were successful in their request to the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs for funding of a project to set up a Volunteer Centre for County Westmeath.
Westmeath Volunteer Centre can assist clubs in a number of ways.
- Find new committee members.
- Find Volunteers to help the upkeep of the club and pitches, write match reports, admin etc in the running of things. Anything really..
- Provide a Garda Vetting Service for coaches working with the young and/or vulnerable.
- Provide Committee Skills Training and Fundraising Training.
- Promote fundraising drives through ourselves and also Westmeath Community Development’s webs sites and Facebook Pages.
- Anything else you have a question about.
