In the Under 17 Division both Gracefield and Killavilla maintained their 100% records with comfortable victories over Killeigh and Portumna respectively. Gracefield remain top however having played a game more. On Saturday Nigel Murphy, Mark Kirwan and Mark Garry were on the score sheet as they continue to improve with every game.
The FAI Youths Cup game between Tullamore and Mullingar could not be played as neither pitch was deemed playable. However Portlaoise made their long journey to Wicklow on Sunday well worthwhile when they came from two goals down against Ardmore to pull back level and win the tie on penalties.
Derry Rovers odyssey in the Leinster Junior Cup continues following a heroic penalty shootout victory away to Enniscorthy on Sunday. It finished scoreless after a tough game, but Rovers sealed their passage when goalkeeper Jason McNamara saved two penalties in the shootout before Stephen Doyle slotted home the decisive kick.
In the Combined Counties Shield Rosenallis came from behind to defeat Abbeyleix in extra time and set up a second round clash with St Carthages. Anthony Coffey and Mick Fitzgerald had put Abbeyleix in the driving seat, but they ran out of gas in the closing stages.
Willow Park continued their brilliant run in the Senior Dsivision with a routine 3-0 win away to bottom side Edenderry Town. Brian Cauldwell, Aidan Sherlock and Robbie Shine again proved their pedigree with a goal apiece to seal the points.
In what possibly looks like the battle for third place it ended all square between Killavilla and Monksland. Monksland raced into a two goal lead through Conor Jordan and Kevin Brennan, but the Roscrea based outfit earned a valuable point with two second half goals.
In the Premier Division, Gallen United and C.K United both enjoyed good away wins to keep them both well in the hunt for honours. Gallen won 3-2 in Shinrone with Sean Kenny firing home a brilliant hat-trick, and C.K prevailed 7-2 in Rosenallis thanks to a brace of goals each from Brendan Bracken and Trevor Wright, with Paul Kinearney, David Flanagan and Niall Holmes also getting in on the act. Willow Park however lost ground when they went down 3-2 at home to Mullingar Athletic even though Collie Hyland had
given them hope with a super finish.
Mountmellick United continue to make progress in Division 4A. On Sunday they accounted for Frankford by two goals to one. Michael Carroll and Jason Fitzgibbon were on the mark for the Mountmellick men who continue to climb the table.
East End once again proved that they are far and away the strongest team in Division 4B after another facile victory. Kilcormac United were the unlucky victims this time around. Mark Kelly, Pa Tyrrell, Enda Ravenhill together with a brace from Chris Bryant and a hat-trick from Eddie Keenaghan saw the Tullamore side continue their unstoppable march to the league title.
