Please note that the CCFL in conjunction with the FAI will run a Safeguarding 1 (Child Welfare & Protection Basic Awareness Course) on Thursday the 12th of January 2017.
This is our 2nd course of the season. The hour course will run from 7.30pm to 10.30pm and will take place in the Bridge House in Tullamore.
Contents
The course is a mix of theory and group work. Booklets will be provided but please bring a pen to participate in the group work.
On completion of the course, the following areas will be discussed.
(a) The Implementation of best practice in protecting the welfare of participants,
(b) Creating a child-centred environment within the football club,
(c) Categories of abuse and some indicators associated with abuse,
(d) How to response appropriately to a disclosure and
(e) How to make a report to designated person or appropriate Statutory Authorities.
Goals
This course educates participants on the implementation of best practice in protecting the welfare of all children involved in football.
Target group
This is a mandatory course for any person working or volunteering with children in football in any capacity.
