| Launch of 2012 COMMUNICATION AWARDS |
| The Football Association of Ireland today (June 26) announced the launch |
| of its communication awards which acknowledge the excellent work by |
| clubs, leagues, affiliates and journalists to promote Irish football at |
| local and regional level. |
| The 2012 award categories include: |
| 1. The best PRO category rewards the best Public Relations Officers |
| attached to a club or league affiliated to the Football Association of |
| Ireland for work completed during the qualifying period. |
| 2. The best publication category rewards the best publication by a |
| club, league or affiliate of the Football Association of Ireland. |
| Publications can include any printed material including match |
| programmes, yearbooks, history books and commemorative booklets. |
| 3. The best coverage category is open to journalists and contributors |
| who have written an article or articles on any aspect of Irish football |
| during the qualifying period. Recognition will be given to those |
| journalists who have dedicated particular time and sacrifice to coverage |
| of less reported strands of the game. |
| 4. The best broadcast item will feature a broadcast item on any |
| aspect of Irish football produced during the qualifying period. |
| The 2012 awards will cover the period from June 1, 2011 to May 30, 2012 |
| and entries must be submitted by July 6, 2012. Entries must be submitted |
| by post. |
