Midlands u17 Shield Interleague Tournament
The Combined Counties Football League (CCFL) has joined forces with the Athlone & District Schoolboys League (ADSL) and the Longford District Schoolboys League (LDSL) to stage an U17 Soccer Tournament in the Athlone Institute of Technology on the 21st April.
This is the 1st time that such a tournament has being organised in the Midlands for this age group and its further builds on the CCFL Youths Strategy which aims to develop soccer for players within the region. The CCFL will enter two squads in the Midlands Shield Tournament and from this a Final Squad will be selected by Youths Manager Tony O’Sullivan to compete in the Macron Galway Cup.
The Macron Galway Cup takes place in August at the home of Salthill-Devon FC and is an Internationally renowned tournament which has in the past played host to such teams as;

Trials for the CCFL’s Midlands Shield & Macron Galway Cup squad’s are ongoing with the final trial being held on Sunday 7th April, should any Manager know of Players (CCFL Registered born in 1996 or 1997) that they feel have the potential to play soccer at this level then further details can be got by contacting Eamonn Brady Youths Divisional Manager at 086-8240767.
