With the long evenings now with us and hopefully some good weather to accompany them; it signals what promises to be an exciting and busy period for our teams. It will be fantastic for everyone to have the opportunity to play an uninterrupted run games after what has been a season badly affected by bad weather since the very beginning of the season.
We now have six or seven weeks to complete the season. Midweek games have already started and a fantastic finale to our competitions is expected.
However, it will need a concerted effort from everyone to ensure we get the season finished in a proper manner.
A few important points of note-
There will be no more requests for weekends off with no reasons put forward being entertained, and fixtures will be made with the sole object being to complete the season in an orderly manner.
Midweek games will continue every week and all teams can expect to play some midweek games before the end of the season.
For Cup games, if the home pitch is unplayable sufficient notice must be given to arrange the game at the oppositions ground. Games cannot be called off until all options are explored to play the game and only the CCFL Committee can call off games.
While we expect it will not be the case, where we feel it is necessary pitch inspections will be carried out before decisions are made on the playability of pitches.
The Committee would like to wish all our teams the very best for the rest of the season and hopefully we can end the season on a bright note with exciting action on the field of play where our league is projected in a positive manner and sport is the winner.
