The LFA held trials on last night in Newbridge to review players and assemble a squad for this years FAI Youths Interprovincial competition. The following players were invited to attend the trials: Daryl O’Connor (Derry Rovers) Keith Byrne (St.Peters) Ruari Claffey (Birr Town) Gary Burke, Cillian Calley, Jordan Williamson (Rosenallis) Eoghan O’Malley, Ben Thompson, Darren Keena (Mullingar Athletic) and Joe Darcy (Newbridge Town). Unfortunately Daryl (O’Connor) and Keith (Byrne) were injured and could not attend.
All the remaining players represented themselves and their clubs in tremendous fashion and the players, their clubs and their parents and families can be very proud of the great performances at the trials.
Following on from the trial the great news is that 3 of the players who participated last night have been asked to a final trial tomorrow night in Dublin. Gary Burke, Darren Keena and Ben Thompson will all play in that final game so we extend our very best wishes to the lads.
Thanks also to Dom, Tony and Eamonn of the Committee for their help in getting everyone organised for the trials
